Electrical Hazards Power Display Box Demonstration
Upon completion of the electrical hazard demonstration, the technician will be able to:
  • Be aware of potential power company electrical hazards
  • Recognize power company equipment
  • Know how and when to test for electrical hazards

The instructor will demonstrate the following actions:

  • How to test rubber insulating gloves
  • How to test and use the FVD
  • A 15,000-volt electrical power arc

The instructor will also demonstrate hazardous voltage on the following:

  • Vertical ground line
  • Down guy
  • Extension ladder
  • Streetlight bracket
  • Metal building
  • Aerial lift truck
  • Hardhat that has a pinhole
  • Electric fence
  • Defective rubber glove that has a pinhole in the glove
  • (Optional) Rubber glove by placing a frankfurter in the finger of the glove that has a pinhole
